e-government

Joined up Government by 2005?

The networks and systems that make up todays Internet have transformed the way that private sector companies conduct their business, the networked world has allowed barriers to be dismantled and offered unparalleled efficiencies and economies of scale.

If this is true for the private sector, why not for the public sector too? What are the e-Government plans and how will "joined up government" be delivered in the UK?

The government has set tight deadlines for the adoption of on-line service options for interacting with government. Every central and local government organisation must develop and implement their e-government strategies by 2005! Part of this will require each body to web enable legacy applications and connect to other government organisations. A major driver is to enable the citizen to access government as a single entity rather than separately. This will require large scale, inter-government business process re-engineering.

Etude can help public sector organisations realise the benefits of joined up Government. Our expertise in e-commerce in the commercial world can, and has been, replicated in the Public Sector world. Etude are already recognised for their expertise in the Government Gateway but our core services can help in many other ways too.
