Course Overview
A business focussed
preparatory course to explore the vision for e-government,
to reveal the opportunities for electronic service
delivery and to explain the value of Government
Gateway services to accelerate the adoption of
e-government. Removing the technical jargon; what
is the Government Gateway and how should government
organisations plan to make use of it?
Course Objectives
Each delegate should be able to understand
and articulate:

overall vision and objectives of e-government The
key priority areas (and the National Projects) What
the Gateway is and what it enables The
value of a central infrastructure The
services available now and planned in the future What
can be achieved if
your systems were to be connected to Gateway
services? The
business case for the Government Gateway What
needs to be done to connect to and use Government
Gateway services (non-technical) Identify
your priority services for electronic delivery
Audience
Senior central and local government
managers, planning to offer, or extend the range
of their existing online services.
Those who are beguiled by talk of e-government and
who wish to find out what it actually means.
Duration and Style
Some formal teaching of the basic
concepts, issues and opportunities with lots of time
for questions and examples. This is followed by an
interactive session designed to enable delegates
to list some specific opportunities they would have
for enabling e-government.

Mike
Collins has worked in both central & local government
as an IT & business process consultant for over
20 years. He has a great deal of e-Business experience
gained in both the commercial and public sectors
on many business change projects. Mike
is a practitioner, specialising in e-government
and using technology to change and improve the
way organisations work. As such he is used to explaining
IT in business language. Mike
has also provided many e-business seminars and
training sessions to a very wide range of audiences.
