Course Overview

Introduction
Get hands-on training AND real product deliverables in the most productive way possible. Tuned specifically for a client’s own project, this course is like no other!

A workshop using your project to focus a team on useful analysis and design techniques, within a RAD/Agile framework. The client will come away with several outline models of their project depending on what is appropriate to them and agreed in advance. USER INVOLVEMENT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL.

Two consultants work with the group in a fast and completely hands-on approach to teach/mentor techniques and get teams actually producing relevant models. Each day will take the project further and the time can be spread over several weeks if required.

An initial 1-day analysis with the client to identify a suitable approach is required and full participation from key business users and IT is essential on the day.

This is suitable for e-Business and standard projects as well as Business Process Re-engineering.

The consultants will be available for phone/email discussions for up to 3 months after the first day of programme completely free, to give further advice and review progress.

Objectives
1) to show how a focussed team can produce a whole set of requirements and design models for your project, quickly.
2) to teach agreed techniques in enough detail to be able to apply them (under consultancy guidance) on the project in hand.

On completion delegates will:
Have knowledge of a set of relevant techniques for their projects
Be working together as a productive, multi-skilled team
Have a real-world project deliverables

Audience
The core project team – including key business users – for the project in question. The aim is to focus on the project, so it is usually not appropriate to mix the audience across several projects.

The course is intended for the Project Manager (both business and IT) , business managers and users, business & systems analysts, developers, testers and architects, plus anyone else who will be part of the core project team.

Duration and Style
A very intensive and completely inter-active course!! There is very minimal tutor led teaching. We create a highly inter-active environment with relevant CASE tools, acres of wall space and 2 consultant/mentors running sessions at the same time. We encourage interactive modelling, amendments and crossing out. We build several models and record requirements as we go (usually on wall charts).

Everybody will be involved, moving from one model to the next. The consultants will assess progress and vary the schedule in order to achieve the final result. Don’t blink – you might miss it!
